SECTION 3 - SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
3.1 HELMETS – Must be full face helmet, with a SNELL safety certification of SA or M 2005 or newer. Must have a full face shield integral with
the helmet. No goggles or safety glasses allowed. A DOT CERTIFICATION IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! MUST BE SNELL APPROVED!
3.2 NECK BRACE – Mandatory in all divisions unless a head/neck restraint is used (highly recommended).
3.3 ARM RESTRAINTS – Must be worn and properly adjusted. (Not required in uncaged kart divisions).
3.4 FIRESUIT – Nomex or Kevlar only. NO PROBAN SUITS!. SFI Rating of 3.2 A1 or higher mandatory. Single layer minimum, double or triple
layer highly recommended. Nomex underwear and socks also highly recommended. One piece suit highly recommended. KART DIVISIONS ARE
NOT REQUIRED TO WEAR A FIRESUIT, BUT MUST WEAR LONG PANTS AND A LONGSLEEVE SHIRT OR JACKET CONSTRUCTED OF A
STRONG MATERIAL SUCH AS DEMIN OR CORDUROY. NO SWEATPANTS! NO HOODED SWEATSHIRTS!
3.5 GLOVES – Nomex or Kevlar gloves mandatory, single layer minimum. Double layer highly recommended. KART DIVISIONS' GLOVES ARE
NOT REQUIRED TO BE FIRE RETARDANT, BUT THEY MUST STILL WEAR GLOVES WITH FINGERS COVERED.
3.6 SHOES – Shoes with ankle support required. Nomex or Kevlar shoes highly recommended for Slingshots and Microsprints.
3.7 Each team must have a working A-B-C Type fire extinguisher in their pit area.
3.8 ALL SAFETY EQUIPMENT MUST BE ON ANYTIME A RACER IS ON THE RACING SURFACE! ANYONE WITHOUT THE PROPER SAFETY
EQUIPMENT IN PLACE WILL NOT BE LET ONTO THE TRACK. ANYONE NOTICED WITHOUT THE PROPER SAFETY EQUIPMENT IN PLACE ONCE
ON THE TRACK WILL BE IMMEDIATELY BLACK FLAGGED.
