2013 FWD 4-Cylinder Rules
All cars must be 4 Cylinder non-turbo charged front wheel
drive American or foreign stock passenger cars. No pick up
trucks, jeeps, convertibles, or all wheel drive cars
permitted. No two seated cars. Cars must have full solid
steel roof. Spoilers, wind deflectors, etc. are permitted at
a maximum of 5 inches tall. NO SAIL PANELS. Bodies must
remain stock. MUST HAVE FULL SCREEN CAGE TO CAGE WITH 2
UPRIGHTS MADE OF AT LEAST 1/8X1 INCHES BAND IRON. INTERIOR
of cars must be gutted of all combustible materials. All
carpeting, doors and quarter trim panels, headliners, and
all seats must be removed. The dash may remain. Original Vin
plate must be in OEM location, for tech reasons. Aluminum
racing seat is mandatory. Drivers seat must have at least a
5-point racing harness and must be securely fastened to cage
in good condition. A four point roll cage is mandatory with
at least two driver side door bars with two uprights between
each vertical bar, and one door bar on passenger side.
Material used must be 1 1/2 inch diameter .095 thickness
round seamless tubing or pipe. EVERY WELDED JOINT MUST BE
COMPLETELY WELDED WITH GUSSETS. ALL
FOUR "FLOOR" MOUNTING POINTS MUST HAVE AT LEAST A 6X6X1/4
IN. STEEL PLATED WELDED TO BAR, WITH GUSSETS, AND BOLTED AT
LEAST FOUR 3/8 BOLTS (MIN OF GRADE 5) TO FLOOR. ANY CAGE
THAT IS DEEMED UNSAFE BY THE TECH INSPECTORS WILL NOT BE
PERMITTED TO RACE. NO GLASS. Plastic trim must be removed
from the outside of body. All headlights, taillights, marker
lights, grills,
mirrors, door handles, mud flaps, and any miscellaneous
exterior plastic must be removed. NO ADDITIONAL CUTTING AWAY
OR CUTTING DOWN ANY OF THE CARS BODY PERMITTED. No
additional cooling systems permitted. Cars must have a
minimum 18 in. high number painted on both front doors and
roof. They must be painted with a contrasting color. All
cars must have an approved fully charged fire extinguisher
accessible. ABC ONLY! Driver side drop down window net
mandatory!
BODIES
All doors must be welded with a minimum of two 1/8x1x6 steel
flats welded along the body side or bolted with 1/8x3x6
steel flats with at least two 5/16 grade 5 bolts. Top of
window frames to roof must be welded or bolted with one flat
with given dimensions. Front and rear bumper systems must
remain stock no sharp edges (must have front bumper cover).
No additional bracing or tubing behind bumpers permitted. No
plating or bracing of bumper mounting brackets permitted.
Bumper shocks must remain functional. Two chains or cables
front & rear to support the weight of the vehicle so it can
be towed easily, mandatory! If your car doesn’t have the tow
chains, cables, or it doesn’t support the weight of your
vehicle, your stuff will get bent in order to remove the car
from racing surface. Stock hood latch must be removed and
replaced with at least 2 hood pins. You may install one bar
in front of the radiator with supports not extending past
front of strut tower. (may not tie into four point cage).
One nerf bar on each side is allowed but must be tight to
door with no sharp edges at ends.
ENGINES
Cars must run stock air cleaner assembly (K&N Filter
allowed, NO Cold Air Type). Honda V Tec 1.6 SOHC Allowed. No
V Tec from any other manufacture unless otherwise noted. NO
aluminum flywheels. No motor swaps.
FUEL SYSTEM
Original gas tanks must remain in stock location. If you
want to use a fuel cell, it must be located in the trunk,
with a firewall separating driver from fuel cell. Trunk
floor must be stock. No lowering of fuel cells. Fuel cell
must be held down by at least two 1/8x1 in. steel straps.
Absolutely no homemade fuel cells permitted. If car comes
stock with plastic tank, must have 1/8 skid plate of any
type. (16 gauge steel plate or 1/8 inch aluminum.)
BATTERY
Battery can be relocated as long as it is in enclosed box
such as marine type, MUST be mounted securely.
RADIATOR
Radiator must remain in stock location. Radiator must be
mounted securely with a 2 quart catch can mandatory, Fan
shroud recommended.
SUSPENSION
All suspension and steering parts must remain stock. No air
ride or traction control. No beefing up or replacing of
suspension or steering parts with heavy-duty parts.
TRANSMISSION
Welded or locked rears are permitted. 1 inch inspection hole
in bell housing mandatory on all standard transmission
cars. No Aluminum flywheels.
EXHAUST
Aftermarket headers permitted, Maximum 2 inch outlet. The
exhaust must exit the car beyond the driver and securely
mounted.
BRAKES
No brake shut offs, all four brakes must be working. There
will be random brake checks
TIRES & WHEELS
Tires must be steel belted radials, of 60 thru 75 series and
must be DOT approved. American Racer race tire size 23.0 /
7.0 -14 optional on right front only. All 4 wheels must be
the same size (for instance 14"). You can stagger tire size
(for instance 185/70/14 on left frt. 205/70/14 on right
front). No winter tires or recaps allowed. Grooving, buffing
and siping is allowed. Race wheel with 4 inck back space
ONLY optional on right front only. Onlly steel wheels
allowed. MUST have 1 inch lug nuts on right front.
WEIGHT & BALLAST
Any weight inside drivers compartment must have 2x2x1/4 in.
minimum plate on the back side of weight, the weight must be
painted a bright color for easy visibility
The top 10 finishers may be torn down at the Promoter/Race
Directors discretion, by the Tech Inspectors. If for any
reason anyone is to be found illegal, they will lose their
money and points for the night.
Anything not covered in these rules will be up to the
discretion of the DH2 Track Officials. DH2 Track Officials
decisions are final!
